Nikola Ivanov’s exhibition The World Spins and Water Falls at the Ústí nad Labem House of Art explores loss and the inability to reconcile with the past. A monumental fifty meter and seven-channel installation transforms the gallery walls, disrupting spatial orientation. It draws viewers into a journey where memories blur with the present, memory sinks into the future, and a vanishing horizon offers the perspective of the end as the only possible beginning.
More about the exhibitionThe exhibition Traditual explores the delicate boundary between tradition as the constant flow of time and ritual as its concrete, physical manifestation. While we perceive tradition (from the Latin tradere—to pass on) as an invisible link between the past and the future, ritual is the moment when this continuity materializes through repeated gestures and bodily experience.
More about the exhibitionThe pursuit of silence amid noise forms the main theme of a new sound work by audiovisual artist Pavel Mrkus. The sound composition will be based on field recordings and instrumental elements, complemented by a characteristic allegorical interlude.
