Mirian Kolev is a musician, composer, and multidisciplinary artist whose work straddles experimental, electroacoustic, ambient, and improvisational music as well as sound art. He lives in the Bulgarian mountains, where he finds inspiration for his unique approach to working with sound and space.
For Gallery 3, he will create a sound contemplation dedicated to the hidden acoustic moments in the life of ants. The work is based on field recordings of the subtle and often inaudible sounds of an anthill, which capture vibrations, movement, and interactions that usually escape our hearing. The author supplements the recordings with subtle instrumental sound layers. The delicate sound layer, combined with the author's musical element, provides the basis for a unique sound presentation and refinement of sound stimuli.
