The exhibition Mutatis Mutandis by Kateřina Bartošová explores the potential of materials within ecological thinking in the design of furniture. As part of her PhD studies at the Faculty of Art and Design, UJEP, the author focuses on exploring the intersection and application of both new and tested materials in interior design in general. These targeted creative and design practices align with contemporary thinking within the framework of sustainable development and more ecological alternatives in the context of contemporary design. The exhibition emphasises a modular approach, focusing on collaboration with local manufacturers and the alternation of traditional and innovative materials in design solutions for furniture. The aim of the exhibition project is to demonstrate, through specific objects and a collage of materials, more systematic solutions associated with a low carbon footprint and minimal residual material.

If what needs to be changed changes. - Let's change our thinking, when else than now.
Silent servants, forgotten hangers of the daily piles of our outer shells. The neglected beauty of the sculptures of mighty mountains, casting shadows on silent family scenographies, has been passing through society since time immemorial. They do not complain, they are silent. In the flood of fair nuances of humanity, their content and being are unchanging. They do their work quietly and devotedly.
Metal structures on which I can easily move shelves, boxes, drawer units - as I need them. Three different widths, carefully designed heights. For hanging, putting away, for changing. Places for small items, trinkets, keys, a fragrant flower, a rose, a thistle, scattered clothes, scarves, coats. Various compositions of sizes, masses and materials. A game of wine. The chosen variety of materials is a creative laboratory. Solid wood, clean sheet metal, recycled plastics, classic boards, sustainable materials or waste material, what will be the choice? The beginning of the story.
