Performance and interactive workshop of traditional Romani dances led by Růžena and Lucie Peterová, realized in cooperation with People in Need.
The programme will offer an introduction to the rich Romani dance tradition, its historical and cultural context and its importance in community life. It will include a dance workshop focused on the basic steps of the ancient folk dance Csárdás, which is typical for its dynamics, rhythm and strong emotion.
Under the guidance of Růžena and Lucie Peterová, participants will try out the basic movement elements, work with rhythm and improvisation. The workshop is open to the general public regardless of previous dance experience and emphasizes sharing, the joy of movement and respect for Roma culture.
