The House of Arts Ústí nad Labem invites you to an expert presentation on copyright issues in the field of fashion and clothing design. The meeting will offer an overview of the basic legal principles of protection of creative work - from the design of cut and print through collections to issues of co-authorship, inspiration and the boundary between quotation and plagiarism.

We will focus on what all can be protected by copyright in fashion, how design protection works in practice, how to deal with infringement and what to look out for when working with manufacturers or brands. The lecture will offer practical examples from the Czech and international environment and will open up space for discussion.

The programme is intended for art students, fashion designers, designers and the general public interested in the relationship between creativity and law.
