Where is My Home? What and whom do we need to feel at home? How important is your home to you?
This exhibition, through various artistic perspectives, seeks to explore the spectrum between two poles: the home as a “place of well-being” with all its unabashed comforts, normalcy, safety, and happiness — and the home as a “place full of uncertainties,” with insecurities arising both from within and from external forces.
We might say that “home” is a universal concept, yet it is different and unique for everyone. This uniqueness doesn't prevent us from recognizing that some homes are alike — and others not. The exhibition will explore both the differences and the shared aspects of what home means.
What does it mean to have a home and to lose it? What does it mean for society when real estate speculators seek to maximize profits without caring whether people lose their houses or apartments? What are the conditions needed to ensure that everyone can have a home of their own?
We might think of home as a deeply private matter, but it is in fact a subject we all share — one that must be discussed and protected.
